Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What will we have to carry on our tour?
A. All your luggage will be transported by our innkeepers, the only thing on your back will be a small day pack to hold your trail snack, camera and small personal items.

Q. Am I too young or too old?
A. Age is more a state of mind than a number! As long as you are in good physical condition and enjoy nature's peace and quiet, you'll enjoy the tour.

Q. This is my first walking tour - will I be able to handle it?
A. Yes, provided you are in reasonably good physical condition. Remember, our innkeepers can drop you off at a starting point that is the number of miles you desire from your destination. You set your own pace!

Q. I'm single. Will I be out of place?
A. Our groups generally comprise about half couples, half singles. Whatever the make up of the group, we take pride in making everyone feel comfortable so that they enjoy the hiking holiday with us.

Q. What exactly is included in the cost?
A. Unlike many other tours, there are no hidden costs on our holidays. Our price includes all your lodging and all your meals as well as all lodging and dining taxes and gratuities. By being a small group of private inns whose owners work together, we are able to offer great hospitality and great value for your money on all our trips. Also, when we say "a 4-day trip" we mean 4 nights of lodging and meals, a 5-day trip is 5 nights.

Q. We are a group of friends. Can you arrange a tour just for us?
A. Certainly. our inns each have at least 8 guest trooms and each inn ahas at least three rooms that can accomodate more than 2 people per room.  We specialize in arranging many such tours each year. Just give us a call.

Q. I am on a special diet, can I be accommodated?
A. Of course. As long as we have advance notice, we can accommodate special dietary requests such as: vegetarian, low fat, etc.

Q. What do I need to bring?
A. When you sign up for a trip you will be sent a complete list of what you will need to bring. Apart from a small day pack, poncho, and comfortable walking shoes, you will not need to purchase any special gear for one of our tours.

Q. Do we actually walk from inn to inn?
A. On some legs our tour starts at the inn's door. On others and on request from all, we provide transportation to the starting point of a walk best suited to you that will take you to the next inn.

Q. What type of footwear do I need?
A. Tennis or walking shoes, made for flat surfaces are not recommended, of course hiking boots will work fine as well, but are not necessary.

Q. What if it rains?
A. We have never had a day when we didn't walk due to rain! In fact, some of our most memorable tours have been on wet days when a sudden clearing and rainbow appeared. No one has to walk in the rain but those that do usually find the experience invigorating and worthwhile
