What a wonderful experience! Everyone at each inn was friendly as were just about everyone else we interacted with in Vermont. Each inn was very nice & clean. The food fantastic. The walks were very pleasant, not strenuous and lots to see. We may just repeat this in a few years.

my wife and i thoroughly enjoyed this hiking tour we completed in late august/sept of 2022. the hike itself is very beautiful and the inns and inn keepers were all super.defenitely would recommend you do this trip. vermont is not flat so you get some excellent cardio exercise as well.

My kids said it was like in The Hobbit where a band of friends set out each day with a vague notion of the sights and adventures they would encounter.We loved the adventure of route finding (maps were great, easy to follow) and being welcomed with smiles, snacks, and dinner each night.I love a vacation where I don't have to worry about food (planning, shopping, cooking or cleaning up). I love to see new things, especially when the options have been curated.The Inn's were each unique, the keepers professional and friendly. The food was ample (we have a picky eater and everyone accommodated his needs accordingly) and the food was delicious and varied from Inn to Inn.10-12 miles is a full day of walking. Bring your comfortable shoes, hat, sunscreen and bug dope.We loved the trip. I would highly recommend. My kids are 16 and 18 now and to have hours of uninterrupted time to talk about dreams and plans and play word association games and "remember when" it was priceless.Yay Vermont, Hooray to the Inn keepers, may this cooperative business venture continue and spread!

Excellent experience! The accommodations were incredibly beautiful and comfortable; the food was 5-star all the way; and the hosts were amazing - friendly, accommodating, and very helpful. It was a great trip! We went in early August, and the hot weather, plus my wife’s frail health meant we couldn’t do all the mileage. The innkeepers went out of their way to help us, dropping us off part of the way along the trail, which meant we could at least do some of the walking. I give the hosts and the inns 5 stars all the way, but do listen to their warnings that ‘Vermont ain’t flat!’. Lots of hills! I’m a long-distance runner, but even my legs were singing the blues at the end of the day. Special thanks to Bernie, and to Julie at the Golden Stagecoach for their kindness. And did I mention the food was great!

My husband and I just finished the walking tour yesterday. We were hoping to see a bear or a moose in the woods but no such luck. We did see a fox run by. The walks were beautiful. It was a very hot day yesterday, but most of the uphills were shady with a nice mountain breeze blowing in the wind. The inns were all unique which offered a variety of wonderful accommodations and delicious food. The innkeepers were so helpful. They came by to check on us doing our walk yesterday offering a ride or a cold water bottle. All and all we had a great time and met some really fun people. I would love to do this in the fall when the leaves are changing.

My mother, sister and I just completed our journey with the Vermont Inn-to-Inn Walking Tour and cannot praise it enough. Each inn has its own lovely charm and everything is extremely organized and thought-out. The food is delicious, the scenery is gorgeous and you might meet some new friends along the way :-) My group highly recommends!!

My husband and I just completed this trip and it was wonderful! All we had to "worry about" were the walks! Our luggage made it seamlessly from inn to inn, the food was wonderful-beautiful dinners, breakfasts and perfect hiking snacks each day. The hosts at each inn took great care of us and we met some really great people as well!

Our experience began via email with Courtenay and she was very responsive and helpful particularly as things got tricky with the new VT rules in reference to COVID19. Fortunately it all worked out and we completed the walking tour and had an amazing time!We found that all of the Inns worked well together to create a memorable experience for us. Overall, the accommodations, food, helpful hints, friendly hosts and walking routes were fabulous. Thanks for the great time!!

Fantastic experience with this program. Super fun to experience the different Inns and the unique walks each day. The Inn-Keepers have different styles but were all very attentive. The quality of food, cleanliness of the Inns and service were all excellent. Let go of your car for a few days, spend real quality time with your mate and enjoy the many hours that you'll have to talk, walk, listen, walk, pray and, did I say - walk. For me, it was a pleasant workout! Best couple vacation that my wife and I have had in many years!

Fabulous experience! Each Inn had their own personality and the Inn Keepers couldn't do enough to support your walk! Healthy breakfast, snacks, dinner included in the fee. It's a self guided walk at your own leisure, supported by a detailed, travel guide provided by your Inn keeper; different terrains, hills, beautiful scenery - a bucket list must!

If we were reviewing the Inn experience, the rating would easily be 5 stars. The walking part was pleasant enough, but can be tedious. Each inn and owner has a unique personality, and went out of their way to be of service. Our walk's schedule partially overlapped with four other couples, and we enjoyed their company (although, generally you do not walk together, but socialize at meals). This aspect is way different than the Marriott's where we usually stay and rarely talk to anybody. Our first day, it rained moderately the whole time, but was pleasant nonetheless. So weather need not ruin your day (although a second day of rain would not have been amusing). Please take advantage of rides offered that get around steep hills or shorten the walk a bit. Walking ten miles a day for four days is more than most of us, even fit and active people, can do enjoyably. There is no pressure or reason to walk the entire course, but most of us cannot take the hint when the ride is offered by the innkeepers.

My husband and I were scheduled to do this in July. At the very last minute, a medical situation resulted in me not being able to do the full walks. We decided to still go and are so glad we did! The accommodations were fantastic. Each inn and host had its own personal style and we thoroughly enjoyed all of them. All of the hosts went out of their way to give us suggestions of places to explore and activities to do. And the food was so delicious! What could have been a disappointing vacation (due to my health issue) ended up being a very delightful time. We hope to return and complete the walks!

What started out as a mother-daughter trip, turned out to be an amazing adventure through rural VT with some truly remarkable co-walkers and now friends. We had perfect weather and really enjoyed our route from inn to inn:
Colonial ➡️ Victoria ➡️ Goldstage ➡️ Pettigrew (and stayed an extra 5th night back at Victoria). Each inn had it’s own style, amenities, food, and the most friendly inn keepers. The scenery, wildlife, locals, and entire experience were breathtaking. My mom and I loved all 43.8 miles and every laugh along the way 🥾🥾

At first the thought of 42 miles is daunting. The detailed directions, encouragement from the most amazing inn keepers and the luxury of the accommodations at night made the experience all the more fun. But by far, the new friends we made will last a lifetime.

We just returned from our walking tour. If we could have, we would have gone for a second lap. Each of the four inns had its own character, but each offered the same wonderful hospitality and top-notched accommodations and meals. We met friendly, interesting fellow walkers who were "birds-of-a-feather"...people who live to travel and travel to live. Each day of walking offered beautiful scenery and well thought out routes. Thanks to these wonderful inn-keepers who made this a truly memorable experience!😀👍

Recently returned from Vermont Inn to Inn Walking tour. I had the best time with my friends walking, talking, and seeing the beautiful sites. The homes, barns, trees, animals were amazing along with the people we met along the way. The Inns were gorgeous, the food unbelievable. The whole experience was unforgettable.

If you like walking in the backcountry or woods, this is a truly fun option. Great hospitality, wonderful walking on country roads, scenic views, scrumptious breakfasts and dinners, and 40 miles in 4 days. Highly recommended!

Yesterday four of us completed our Vermont Inn to Inn Walking tour and it was fantastic! Each inn had its own unique charm and all were very comfortable and extremely clean. The hosts were all so welcoming and helpful. The meals/breakfasts were unreal. Before the first night I had never spent a night in a bed and breakfast, but I will certainly be back.

The walk itself was not always easy, but it was a walk not a hike that utilized country roads for the most part. The route took us past some beautiful farm country, through quaint villages with cool stores (The Vermont Country Store in Weston was awesome!). We strolled past mansions and hunting shacks, along rippling trout streams, state forest lands and old cemeteries.

Everything about our trip was first rate down to directions and snacks. If you are a person who loves a good walk, and great hospitality, I highly recommend booking a trip with Vermont Inn to Inn Walking.

My husband I did the walks in late August. It was hot, humid and well... buggy..., but we had a great time. We enjoyed beautiful scenery and each stay. The in keepers were friendly, kind and caring..... We still talk about the walk...., hope we do it again next year.

Each inn had its own character and so did each walk. The innkeepers went above and beyond to make our tour pleasant! We loved the beauty of rural Vermont in late summer. Maybe we will try it again in the fall sometime.

Thank you for such a super fantastic walking vacation! Every mile was exceptional and it was exactly what my wife, Dulcie, and I were hoping for!! Vermont is such an incredibly gorgeous state! The inns, innkeepers, and meals were over the top! Recommended!!!!

We had an OUTSTANDING time on our Inn to inn walk last week -- it was pretty nearly perfect! The distances were manageable and the scenery inspiring -- it didn't feel as if we were really going THAT far. Knowing there was wonderfulness waiting for us at the next inn was a strong motivator when we wearied of the Vermont hills -- and, sure enough -- there was lemonade, cookies, fruit, cheese, crackers -- and a swim or a nap! Each inn is unique, and each innkeeper brings something different to the experience. All were eager to support us in whatever way we needed. You can DO this!!!
